Balázs Orbán

Chairman of MCC's Board of Trustees, Political Director to the Prime Minister

Balázs Orbán is a Hungarian lawyer, political scientist, and Member of Parliament. Since 2021, he has served as the Political Director to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, advising on strategic decision-making. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC), chairs the Advisory Board of the National University of Public Service (NKE) and oversees the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA). With degrees in law and political science from Eötvös Loránd University and an LL.M. in legal regulation in public administration, Orbán has held various leadership roles, including Research Director at the Századvég Foundation and Director of the Migration Research Institute. He has been teaching at the National University of Public Service (NKE) and MCC since 2015. Orbán has authored books such as “The Hungarian Way of Strategy”, published in multiple languages. Most recently he earned a Ph.D. in law with summa cum laude from the ELTE Doctoral Program.
