Václav Klaus is an economist, politician, and former President of the Czech Republic (2003–2013). A key figure in the country’s transition from communism, he previously served as Prime Minister (1992–1997) and Minister of Finance. As a founding member of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), he played a pivotal role in shaping Czech economic and political policies. A strong advocate for national sovereignty, Klaus has been an influential voice in European affairs, often critical of excessive EU integration. He is the author of numerous books on economics and politics and continues to contribute to public discourse through lectures and writings.
